An evening of French Music featuring The Mastersingers, Philharmonic Brass and Faure's Requiem with Soprano Joanne Smith (Mastersingers) and Baritone Matt Stiff (G4). This is the first performance of the first ever full orchestration of this great work by Holmfirth composer, Barry Russell. Tickets: 472426

At Holmfirth High School as part of their Music Week celebrations, we will play Mendelssohn's 2nd Piano Concerto, featuring local pianist Jane Robertson at the piano. Jane is a most accomplished player and as well as teaching piano from her home in Scholes, is accompanist for both the Holme Valley Singers and the Mastersingers.
*The Wednesday performance was introduced with an illustrated analytical lecture on the concerto, given by the conductor.
Friday, June 17th, 2005. At Hepworth Parish Church, 7:30, the orchestra will play music by Mussorgsky, Michael Nyman, Shore ('Lord of the Rings') and assorted James Bond composers. We will also be hosting the Abney Orchestra from Mossley, Lancs, in the return match of our community orchestra exchange.Thusrday, November 18th, 2004. The Orchestra will perform in the World Premier of 'Snogging Harold Wilson' by Barry Russell. This Opera is the inaugural event of this years Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (www.hcmf.co.uk) and the performance will be in St Georges Sq, Huddersfield at 7:45. Also performing will be the Holme Valley Singers.
